In 1915 a young boy posed with his two ranch hounds in Hudspeth County Texas. Big, strong and fast. They were a mixture of greyhound and the Russian wolfhound, or borzoi. These breeds, and the gazehound hybrids they produced, evolved into the so-called American staghound.
