Mail Hack from Lubbock to Plainview in 1909. The following year it was delivered by automobile. Before the automobile, mail was delivered by horse or mule-led conveyances known as hacks. The “mail hack” might have been an enclosed carriage, a buggy or a vehicle specifically made for the purpose of carrying letters and packages
