Fast-growing deciduous shade tree with upright rounded shape. Boasts feathery narrow 3-6" long leaves that are green in Spring, turning to yellow in Fall. Known as a valuable soil binder, proving excellent erosion control. Attracts birds and butterflies. Moist soil tolerant. Excellent near streams, and ponds in moist open natural spaces. Special Features	Great near ponds and streams. Its shallow, spreading roots make it a valuable soil binder, proving excellent erosion control. Wet soil tolerant. Ease to grow, and low maintenance. Attracts birds, and butterflies. Do not plant them near your house or driveway because its roots my clog sewer and water pipes.

Sun	Full Sun – Part Shade. Needs at least 4 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Height	30-60Ft. Up to 100Ft. with optimum conditions of constant moist wet soil.
Width	30-60Ft.
Planting-General	Dig hole 1X deep as the root ball and 2-3X wide as the root ball. Likes clay, loam, sandy (amended to retain moisture), and silt soil. Prefers constant moist to wet soil. Likes acidic to alkaline soil, 4.5 to 7.0 pH level.
Planting-Spacing	Plant 65Ft.+ from each other center to center.
Watering	Average-High water needs. Young tress need frequent deep watering to establish their shallow roots. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing	Feed with a balanced tree and shrub fertilizer starting in the Spring. Slow release types are fine.
Pruning	Prune in late Winter to early Spring while dormant. Remove dead, or damaged branches, crossing or rubbing branches to improve airflow.
Deer	Deer do eat the green shoots and twigs. Typically, minor nibbling will not kill them. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
Flowers	Inconspicuous 2-4" golden yellow not showy floral spikes known as catkins in the early Spring. They provide a source of nectar and pollen for birds, and butterflies.
