| Special Features | Very low maintenance. Fragrant small white flowers that attracts butterflies. Drought, and deer resistant. Good for costal locations since it is moderately salt resistant. Has 1/4" red to black drupes of fruit in the fall that are non-showy and to little value to wildlife. |

| Planting-General | Likes sand, loam, silt and clay (amended to ensure good drainage) soil. Moist, well drained soil. Soil pH of <6.0 (acid) and Neutral (6.0 to 8.0). |
| Planting-Spacing | Plant 4 Ft. apart for solid hedge. |
| Watering | Not a lot, once established. Water then newly planted and during drought conditions. For new plants, deep watering of root ball and 2 times a week. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock when planting. |
| Fertilizing | Feed in spring. Once well established can do fine without any feeding. Feed with slow release fertilize for shrubs & trees just after it blooms to help with blooming and foliage color if desired. |
| Pruning | From February until flowers start. Hard prune after late March so new shoots can grow during the season. |
