Fast growing deciduous shade tree with rounded canopy. Boasts small 4" long leaves with 1-5 rounded lobes that are blue green in Spring, changes read-brown in Fall. Excellent shade tree for moist to wet areas like lakes, creeks, ponds, streams. However, not recommended for standing water locations. See Specifications below. Shop the Water Oak Tree for sale. Item Description
Special Features Fast growing shade tree with broad rounded canopy. Attracts birds, butterflies, moths and mammals. Provides small round acorns for mammals to eat. Disease, drought (once established), deer, dry soil, wet soil, heat, humidity, salt air (good in coast areas), resistant, and low maintenance.

Growth Rate Fast, 2Ft. per year or more
Sun Full Sun – Mostly Sun,  Needs at least 6 hours of direct, unfiltered sunlight per day, or more.
Height 50-80Ft.
Width 40-60Ft.
Planting-General Dig hole 2 times wide as the root ball and 1 root ball deep. Likes moist but well-drained soil. Likes clay, loam, silt and sandy soil. Likes acidic soil, 4.5 to 60 pH level.
Planting-Spacing Plant 65+Ft. from each other
Watering Average water needs. Can add Root Stimulation which helps early root development and strengths roots, as well as, reduces plant shock.
Fertilizing Feed with a balanced tree and shrub fertilizer starting in the Spring. Slow release types are fine.
Pruning May prune while young to build stronger central truck and prevent large branches. Prune in early Spring, or late Fall before new growth starts.
Deer Deer do eat their acorns. If in a high deer area, spray every 3 to 6 months with deer repellent.
Flowers Inconspicuous gold yellow flowers in the Spring with no smell.
