A NEW PATH
This summer of 2026 David and I took a huge step. We went on an extended trip longer than we have ever been away.
Today marks the 2nd of July the day of Jeffrey's passing to the stars and the 2nd year of Jeffrey's absence. I am sitting in Paris having my tea and reflecting on the huge impact my son has made in my perspective.
Around the world in 67 days. Indianapolis to NYC. NYC to Paris. Paris to Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka to Singapore. Singapore to Paris. Then we will head home just after 14th juillet in Paris. It is quite unreal. The world has heated up in Europe. Then cooled down for a bit. We struggle without A/C here as does 80% of the population in the city. The world has heated up and caught fire in the US. People go on. And sometimes they don't.
Everywhere I go, I think of Jeffrey. Wow, Jeffrey would have loved that. Wow, I need to take a video of that for Jeffrey. Jeffrey was worldly only from the safety of his computer screen. He needed his home comforts. He would never have tolerated the waiting, the security checks, the stresses and the uncertainties of travel. But he studied his photos and his videos. We pointed out those places on the globe and the map. Jeffrey was a world traveler in his imagination.
I would like to offer some images of those things that Jeffrey would have liked on this trip.
On Jeffrey's Birthday (July 10) we will be taking part in a very special event. My good friend Katia and her partner Fred will be married. David and I will be witnesses. This is a special link, as Katia met me when I was substitute teaching for a friend in Paris, and Fred has autism. Jeffrey will be there with us. It will be a renewal of his gift to the world.
Indeed the world is an amazing adventure. I will continue to take my son with me through my travels.
