In the Middle East, the family (ahl in Arabic) is still so important
to the individual, and is surviving the influences of economical and
political changes.
In the West, "family" is defined as "parents and their
children", while in the Middle East, "family" is defined
more inclusively meaning "parents and their children", or "relatives" or "people" especially
persons of a special place, or "followers".
