Horsehead Nebula

“Pillars of Creation” captured in NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope’s near-infrared view. The pillars resemble arches and spires rising from a desert, but are filled with semitransparent gas and dust.

The heavens declare the glory of God;
The skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech;
Night after night they reveal knowledge.

King David, Psalm 19

Webb is the largest, most powerful and complex space telescope ever built and launched into space.

It will fundamentally alter our understanding of the universe!

I was thirteen years old, in the eighth grade, and we started a debate discussion with two different teams. I was Captain of one team, and our first oral discussion, was to debate this question: "What is the more important invention, the microscope or the telescope?" Our team did research to prove the telescope, referencing the work of Galileo and others, and the invention of computers, and their view into extraterrestial space, would prove over time to be the more important invention. The telescope won the debate.
