Mirror Talking

The Growl From The Great Beyond

Story by Bill Murray

Poetry by Uncle John

Bill Murray:

"Have you ever looked in the mirror & NOT seen yourself?

Woke up earlier slept well then sat quietly

did some stretching, used the rumble roller and thought,

"OK another great day to scrub my teeth." And, hello!

Right in the mirror not the face I know so well, but a mutt.

I really don't care that he's not a pedigree, but...he is a dog.

What did the man say, a dog has taken my place, my face place.

This dog right here."

Watching The Big Sky

Destiny`s stars shine

Three cups of love sing loud
Roots hearts and wings
Shuffle under the clouds

Gabriel` the angel
Come see us awake
With Cupid`s bow & arrow
Selfie taking shape

Michael step down
From the stairway to the sky
To show us the truth in mirrors
A purpose to seek what hides

Looking in the mirror
Love to hear you talk
Echoing Good Morning
Express the way you walk

Watching the big sky
For a small sign
Real and not by design
Mirror talking with an eye
Like a paradigm

All You Need Is Love

The stars long for darkness

 In order to shine

Our souls bear light

Illuminated through our eyes

Angel eyes

You make me come

To my senses

From a heart of love

I catch a wink from her

She says back to me with a smile

 Positive and honest

A vision of love

Physical energy

Intellectual strength

Spiritual faithfulness

Emotional excitement

Inspiration

You make me come

To my senses

Through your eyes

Friendship and support

They wonīt allow bullies

To put them down

Angelic crown

Smile so pretty and fair

The glance of your soul

The movement of your hair

The love of your sibling over there

The creative feel in the air

Angel eyes

Extraordinary care

Poems of love

The way you look

I read you

In the eyes of your heart book

Makes a connection there in my mind

Gentle loving and so kind

Like a hand to a glove

All you need is love

TalkinīMoney Tree

SongPoem by Robert Hunter/ Story by Uncle John

Late last night layinīin bed

I found an answer to all my ills
A great big tree growing green and free
Full of ten thousand dollar bills

Well, I went downtown to buy some wheels
Bought every car in town
Bought all the gas and all the oil
So we could all drive around

I bought every big department store
And everything inside
You could back up your truck and fill it up
The doors were open wide

It was company policy
We did it all the time

I bought the park and I hired a band
To play every day for free
I bought the bars and the trolley cars
And the telephone company

You could call all day, say "How's it going?"
And never have to pay
Send telegrams to your wife and friends
Saying "You don't have to work today"

But after a while I got so bored
I just gave the whole thing back
All I kept was a bar and grill
By the northbound railroad track

You can come by here any time of night
Or any time of day
The second cup of coffee's free
But the first one, you got to pay

It is the Fourth of July weekend 2015, at Soldierīs Field  in Chicago. On the Fourth, as I was entering for the show, one of the Deadheads asks me, "What are they going to play tonight?" I reply, "The first time I met Robert Hunter backstage, he sticks out his hand and says "Shake the hand that shook the hand..." He associates the gesture with the Grateful Deadīs "U.S. Blues". It is the final performances of the Grateful Dead, with Trey Anastasio playing lead guitar in Jerry Garciaīs role, celebrating the fiftieth anivrsary of the band.

Leaving Soldierīs Field with 70,000+ Deadheads, at the last of three shows, we are shoulder to shoulder trying to move to the exit. As soon as we reach the way out, I pull away from the tight crowd and climb a very wet slippery hill with my slip-resistant shoes and I am alone on a street above on a breezy day. I notice this tree, recalling how I could clearly hear Jerry Garciaīs voice, who helped me to not take drugs this weekend, a real test, and I notice what looks like a leaf fall to the ground, but a closer look reveals it is no leaf. It is a one million dollar Federal Reserve Note with Jerry Garciaīs portrait on the bill.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE

 You can see whatīs new

Find love thatīs true

You can be fun

You are like the sun

You could be the one

Show me

You know me

Everytime you come

You could be the one

That I learn from

Never be the same

Cultivate loveīs treasure

To replace your pain

You could be the one

To hold on to forever

Near you are

Even when you are far

Just like the star

Under the crossbar

With her hold on

Am I reading you

In the changes and pages

Noticing the difference

Of what is real the music true

Timeless and ageless
