TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALLGAME

Thanks to 1Bambooshack for the video

Music by Bob Dylan & Ed Meeker

“Take Me Out to the Ballgame”

written in 1908 as a love story in which baseball decides the fate of a young couple

 “Katie Casey was baseball mad
Had the fever and had it bad.
Just to root for the hometown crew,
Ev’ry cent Katie blew.
On a Saturday her young beau
Called to see if she’d like to go
To see a show, but Miss Kate said, ‘No,
I’ll tell you what you can do.’
Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out with the crowd
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks
I don’t care if I never get back
Let me root, root, root for the home team
If they don’t win, it’s a shame
For it’s one, two, three strikes, you’re out
At the old ballgame.”

I NEED A MIRACLE EVERYDAY

by Uncle John

I heard Bobby Weir of the Grateful Dead say,

"Just because I need a miracle everyday doesn´t mean I get one."

Same be true for the San Francisco Giants.

They have seen some truly miraculous games this year

showcasing their true talent and  potential.

Yet it seems like the team is confounded.

How many close games and moments and strange circumstances

have occurred that have turned this team´s winning upside down?

There has been a dark cloud of negativity over the organization

as the people can´t help but complain.

There´s a difference between the team that won the World Series

& the present San Francisco Giants.

One difference is Hunter Pence. He was a spiritual spark,

a humble man who came to work on his scooter,

and offered insightful sayings

that uplifted his teammates to encourage and inspire them.

What has been great about Buster Posey

is that he thinks and does things differently.

He tries new things and gives this team

another fresh start. We hope the Giants will pursue Luis Arráez

when he becomes a free agent and have a win-win situation

if they can bring Luis back to this team and keep the prospects too.

I was riding with Bob Weir in his car

one Saturday afternoon in San Francisco.

I found out he is a baseball fan.

We talked about hits.

Bob Weir and Jerry Garcia and Vince Welnick

 sang the National Anthem

opening day at Candlestick Park in 1993.

A reviewer called it a home run performance.

Bob Weir sang the National Anthem in Oracle Park

three times with Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead and

Tim Flannery, theThird Base Coach for the SF Giants.

"The Grateful Dead would like to have a hit",

Bob Weir says to me,

and our conversation about radio hits continues.

Suddenly, Bob calls my attention to the car in front of us.

The license plate says "HIT".

No numbers just the three letters.

"Is that a miracle or coincidence?" Bob asks.

Like Bryce Eldridge´s hit,

a grand slam in a walk-off come from behind win,

I need a miracle everyday.
