Family Portraits

We had Kaileen Galhouse, a photographer who lives in our neighborhood, take family pictures at Red Rock Wilderness Overlook Regional Park just off the Potomac River in north Loudon County.

Here are the kids' fall school portraits for 2017.  As this is Lexi's senior year, she actually had a separate sitting for her pictures over the summer.

The girl scouts put on a daddy-daughter dance at the end of January.  Lexi asked her dad to wear his uniform.  They had a really nice time.

We got went to Target to get family portraits done for Christmas again.  We were pretty happy with the results.

Alexa also had a lot of fun in her hip-hop dance class.  Here are the end of the year pictures.

Steve coached the kids soccer team at the YMCA in the spring.  The team was supposed to be for first and second graders, but they let Andy sign up too.  Steve was a little worried and had a talk with him about not getting discouraged if he didn't play as well or score as many goals as he had in the past.  He got a hat-trick (three goals) in the first game, making that discussion irrelevant.

Steve took Alexa to a Daddy-Daughter Dance at the YMCA.  We met up with her friend Maxine and the girls just giggled and grinned the whole evening.

Before Alexa's birthday party in mid-November, we trotted off to Target to take some pictures for Christmas.

Andy played baskeball at the YMCA this fall.  Steve coached the team.  Alexa decided to take swimming lessons instead.

Andy and Alexa both played basketball on the same team at the YMCA this fall.  Steve helped coach.  Here are their team pictures.

Here is Alexa's kindergarten portrait from Academy International Elementary in the fall of 2005.

Alexa decided that soccer was fun too (especially since the fall season was outdoors).  Here are her's and Andy's portraits from the YMCA soccer team, and the team picture (too bad that Steve who also helped couch was out of town the weekend the pictures were taken).

Andy has been playing soccer at the YMCA in the spring.  Here is his team picture.

We took these portraits just before Thanksgiving and hope to have them in our Christmas letters.  Alexa has just turned five-years old and Andy is only a little over a month away from turning four-years old.

This portrait was taken at the kids school in Colorado in late October 2004.  Alexa is just shy of five-years old and Andy is three and a half.

These portraits were taken at the end of March in 2004.  Andy is now 3-years and almost 3 months old, while Alexa is now 4-years, 4+ months old.

These portraits were taken in early Jan 04.  Andy is turning 3-years old in a week and Alexa is now 4-years old.

These portraits were done at daycare in late June 2003.  Alexa is 3-years and almost 8-months old, while Andy is 2-years and almost 6-months old.

This portrait is from daycare in March 2003.  Alexa is 3 years and 4 months old, while Andy is 2 years and 2 months old.

These portraits are from daycare in Oct 02.  Alexa is just under 3 years old, while Andy is 2 years, 9 months old.

These portraits were taken at the kids' new daycare in Jul 02, when Alexa was 2 years and 8 months old and Andy was a couple days short of 18 months old.

Since Andy is almost one year old (he will be next week, wow did that go bye quickly), we had some new portraits taken just after Christmas 01.  They turned out very well.  Image how much he was smiling with his two parents, sister and the photographer all making funny sounds and faces.

These are Alexa's two-year old portraits taken in the fall of 2001.  She has grown so much, and is turning into a wonderful little girl.  Andy looks so serious in his.

These were taken in Sep 01 at daycare.  As you can see, Alexa wasn't very happy.  We had even put her in a nice dress and done up her hair.  Oh well.  We had dropped Andy off in a nicer outfit.  He obviously trashed it.  Unfortunately they selected from his drawer and outfit we likely wouldn't have chosen for a portrait.  In the long run, it doesn't really matter - he is still as cute as can be!

These are pictures Steve took in black and white.  He's rather proud of them, as some of them came our rather well, as you can see.

We were able to get all of Nancy's family together for this family portrait at Thanksgiving in 2000.  Alexa is one year old and Andy will arrive in almost two months.

We thought a couple of these pictures taken just after Alexa was born turned out very well.  Hope you enjoy these from her first couple weeks.

We will always treasure the following pictures.  We had a co-worker who had some black and white pictures taken of his new baby about six months before Alexa was born.  They were so good and very special, that we sought out the same photographer.  Todd R took these photos in his garage.  Alexa was only a month or two old at the time.
