Family Portraits and Favorite Pictures - 2017

We took the Amtrak to New York City for the first weekend in the new year to meet up with Steve's Uncle Denny and Aunt Cindy.  We had a great time seeing two shows, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island along with visiting with them.

We continue to laugh at both pets and kids

Steve and Andy took a ski trip to Beavercreek and Vail they will both remember for a long time (Steve's legs will certainly be sore enough to remind him for a while).

Andy had to do a science project for his honors class and he chose to do a Shark Tank project instead of a Science Fair project.  Here he is working with dad.  He also went to Virginia Beach for a DECA competition on a team with his friends.

Here is Andy and his friends Alexa and Ricky on the CYA house basketball team that Steve coached.

Nancy had a great time going to Missouri to help celebrate her dad's 80th birthday.

We had fun at a number of professional games this winter.

The cherry blossoms, while stunning, we a little past when we went to see them.

Unfortunately, Lexi spent a week in the hospital when her port got infected.

We had fun seeing the Gnade's at the start of spring break.

Next stop was Hershey Park

... followed by a visit to Gettysburg.

... and the rest of the week in western Pennsylvania.

Andy sure had fun playing varsity soccer at school again this year.

Steve had an amazing time in Boston visiting his aunt and uncle for a Cubs-Red Sox game.

Nancy enjoyed showing Andy's friend Mark how to make an apple pie.

Lots of fun exploring the area this summer, especially as Aryn (a summer intern at Steve's company who's staying with us for the summer) hasn't been to any of the places before.

The inmates seam to be running the asylum at times.

The Cubs beat the Nats.  Go Cubs!

We enjoyed a great hike in White Oak Canyon before picking Andy up from his time as a counselor at Camp Varsity.

Looks like Andy had a fun time at camp, even if the initiation was a unexpected.

Nancy and Lexi had a nice time at Mamma Mia! at Wolftrap.

Clearly time to get out of town for a couple days, so we headed to Virginia Beach and Chincoteague.

Steve and the kids also managed a visit to Chicago to see grandma, the Art Institute, go to a soccer ID camp and see the MLS All-Star game and a Cubs game.

Alexa headed off on her own to Missouri to spend a couple days with her grandparents.  Naturally, this included a trip (or more) to Central Dairy.

We had fun sailing in Annapolis for Steve's 50th birthday.

Time to enjoy Virginia with a paddle on the Potomac.

We also had fun on a tubing float trip down the Potomac.

Here are the kids at iFly Indoor Skydiving, which was a Christmas present we were finally able to schedule.

Time for fall soccer again.  This year Andy is with Arlington SA.

Here are the kids' fall school portraits for 2017.  As this is Lexi's senior year, she actually had a separate sitting for her pictures over the summer.

Here is Andy's picture

Yet more pictures from Andy's soccer games.

Amazing experience going to a Chicago Cubs postseason game.  Unfortunately they lost NLDS game 2 to the Washington Nationals 6-3.   But, we had a great time.  Steve's aunt and uncle were even able to join us.

Andy had a fun time at homecoming with Nicole.

Alexa enjoyed the Halloween Glow at Lake Fairfax with Callie.

Andy is a USYS Virginia state soccer champion (again), as his Arlington 2001B Red team defeated McLean in penalty-kicks to win 1-1 (5-3).

We enjoyed Lexi's 18th birthday celebration.  We went to Medieval Times with Aunt Cathy, Uncle Bill and Aunt Judy.  Lexi then had friends over for pizza and a movie the next night.

We had Kaileen Galhouse, a photographer who lives in our neighborhood, take family pictures at Red Rock Wilderness Overlook Regional Park just off the Potomac River in north Loudon County.  Just love some of the results.

Andy was honored to compete in the USYS National League again this year.

An early Christmas at Cathy's was great.

On to Florida , via Hilton Head, NC and Savannah, GA.
