Delaware Beach

Several trips to the beach this summer.  Managed to get some fun pictures of bird right from the deck.  Loved this Great Egret flying right at me in late June.

Amazing site early in the morning in July.  Saw an egret near this spooky stump in the canal which runs just behind our place and right in front of the deck.  Decided to grab the telephoto lens and get some pictures.  So two thing immediately happened.  The lens fogged up moving from the air conditioning to the super humid outside, and a blue heron landed just behind the egret in the same shot.  OK, frantically find a way to clean the lens, clean again, take a couple pictures, clean again and again and hope a couple images come out.  Wait, there's something moving behind the stump ... hey, there's another egret, making three herons (egrets are a type of heron, at least they're in the same family).  The first egret even caught a fish in the middle of this.
