June 2026 (Part 03) Fun in Virginia Nancy and Lexi saw this owl along the path by the creek near our house.
We went to Top Golf to celebrate Father's Day, a couple days later. Both of the girls won a game! Several people from Nancy's office got together to do a fitness challenge between March 15th and July 4th. They had to complete 250 miles with a weighted rucksack (there were alternatives for bike, run, or row), which worked out to be about 2 miles a day. A bit into the challenge, they added 250 jumping jacks, push-up, flutter-kicks, and weighted squats, and 250 weighted flights of stairs. Nancy initial heard 250 sets of ten each. After realizing her error, she decided to do that anyways. At the end, several people donated flutter-kicks and stairs to help her finish.
We took Rob Russell and his daughter out for a boat ride up the Potomac to DC. We saw about ten different eagles off the bluff near Fort Belvour.
In Alexandria, a fire boat pulled out behind us. After drawing our attention by blowing its horn, it proceeded to give a display with its fire hoses. Pretty fun. What wasn't fun, was getting caught in a downpour south of Gunston Bay as we tried to get back.
