Delaware Beach Time

We made it to the beach a couple time in late summer.  Enjoyed some time on the Wave Runner.

For one weekend, we loaded the kayaks on the roof and headed to Assateague Island.  It was a rather windy day, do glad we were able to find a somewhat sheltered area to start a paddle at Old Ferry Landing.  Unfortunately, our route took us past two exposed points and into some waves and wind.  There were two of the island's wild ponies in a clearing nearby.

We pass a couple men who've somehow waded way out while harvesting oysters.  Past them we headed each of a number of different estuaries and eventually found two bald eagles in a tree.  We also heard some ponies neighing, but never saw them.

Stopped to take a break, wading out a bit to discover it was pretty shallow for quite a while.

We made out way back north past where we started, finding another eagle as we made our back to the put-on point.

A couple of the ponies were near the road as we made our way out of the park.
