Maine Trip - Thursday, Sep 28: Kayak Trip

The next day, we headed out with Maine State Sea Kayaks for a trip on the west side of the island, leaving from Pretty Marsh into the Mount Desert Narrows.  We remembered to start a GPS at about the half-way point, so believe the overall trip was about 5.5 to 6 miles long and took around three hours.

Had to take a picture of the street name where the boat ramp was we used to put the kayaks in, as Jay Ingersoll is a friend from work.

We came upon another tour group in Dogfish Cove on the south end of Bartlett Island who were in a pretty ketch rigged sailboat.  There was no wind to speak of, so they had their sails up for show.

We eventually stopped for a break at a small beach on Folly Island.

There was a bald eagle pruning him/herself in a tree above our rest spot.
