September 2023 (Part 05) Concert Fun Just after Labor Day, we saw James Taylor and His All-Star Band from lawn seats at Wolf Trap. He was wonderful. So, so many amazing songs in his catalog. We had been lucky getting out of there the previous two concerts and our luck ran out here, as we were directed to a spot against the back fence and took forever to get out, despite getting to our car quickly. He made the most of the large screen behind him, showing videos of friends and scenes that supported his songs. On one, he had the sheet music and it moved in time with the song, allowing you to more easily sing along.
Liked the use of the screen to provide sheet music for the audience to sing along to.
The view from behind him as he took a final bow after the encore while looking at the audience was pretty cool.
Here is the set list
We saw Peter Gabriel at the Capital One Arena in mid-September. Really enjoyed this. But realized he still had a decent amount of new material and the stuff we new from the 1980s was only scattered about, especially in the first set. Still, a couple of his songs are among Steve's favorites, and he closed the show with them. A lot of fun.
