May 2025 (Part 25) France Trip: Day 12: Paris The next morning we reluctantly disembarked from the cruise ship and said goodbye to Aunt Cathy. We took a taxi to our hotel, then slowly made our way toward the Jardin du Luxembourg, where Lexi wanted to spend some more time sketching. There was really only time to sit for a couple minutes as we had a timed entry to the Musee d'Orsay later in the morning.
Above the garden, we stopped at the Fontaine des Quatre-Parties-du-Monde (Fountain of the Four Corners of the World).
As we made our way to the garden, there were several wonderful statues.
Once inside the Luxemboiurg Gardens, we made our way to the left to enjoy some of the more formal gardens, and to the the apiary.
Here is the L'Acteur Grec (a statue of a Greek actor), which is next to the Fontaine Médicis (Medici Fountain), which was commissioned in 1630 by Marie de' Medici, the widow of King Henry IV of France and regent of King Louis XIII of France.
As we made our way to the Seine, had to admire several window gardens and amazing iron works.
This was the entrance to the Great Chancellery of the Order of the Legion of Honor
We then made our way to the Musee d'Orsay.
