March 2024 (Part 08) Skiing Trip To Colorado Steve met up with Andy in Denver for his spring break, stopping for lunch first at Old Chicago's and sending jealous image. They also stopped at the Breckenridge Brewery in the middle of the week and jokingly sending the picture to our neighbor Sal, asking where he was, as we had amazingly run into him there several years ago before COVID.
In Breckenridge, we met up with two of Andy's friends from high school. Tyler Thompson, who is now a Lieutenant in the Army stationed at Fort Carson arrived about the same time we did. Kyle Gallagher came in later that evening. The four of us had two great days at Breck, with a partly cloudy sky on the first day, and about 8-10 inches and clouds for Mon. Here are some images clipped from GoPro video from Monday.
Here is Kyle G.
Harris Sciabica joined us late Monday night, in time for a trip over the pass to ski at Vail on Tuesday. It doesn't get much better than a powder day in Vail's Back Bowls.
When we got back, Tyler headed back to Colorado Springs while Andy's friend John from Northwestern came in late that night (technically the next morning). He did go out, but a bit later, and mostly skied with Olivia, a girl from their class who also lived near Cleveland who had flown and driven up with him. They did meet up with Andy and the other two boys in the afternoon. Steve took a well earned day off. They boys apparently did laps for much of the morning on Wonderland and Intuition off Peak 6. Lily was also in town, having spent the last two seasons in town working in a ski rental shop. We all met up on Wednesday night at a bar with a trivia contest, where the boys insisted Steve go with them.
It snowed a bit more on Thursday, but the sky cleared in the afternoon. Lily was able to get Andy a free rental, which allowed him to ski for the first time since early high school.
The boys had some fun in the terrain park toward the end of the day. At least until Andy landed badly and broke his binding, forcing him to ski to the bottom on one ski.
Andy was back on his board for the last day on Friday. It was pretty cloudy and overcast on Friday again by mid-morning.

and everyone (at least on Friday).
Once at the bottom, the kids proceeded to have a snowball fight and just hangout outside for a good hour before coming in. Clearly didn't want the fun to end. A couple more fun pictures from Andy
