May 2025 (Part 32) France Trip: Day 13: Walking Paris We decided to walk downhill from the museum to the Seine. Some fun sights along the way, beginning with the Jardin de Ranelagh which is across the street from the museum.
We managed to find our way to another garden area, the Parc de Passy, which was a small community space amongst apartment buildings and a hostel.
As we were wandering without a schedule, Lexi had a lot of time to take pictures of bees.
We crossed the Seine at Pont de Bir-Hakeim which connects the 15th and 16th arrondissements and was completed in 1905. The bridge gets its name from a battle of the same name in WW2 when Free French forces fought the Axis powers at the oasis of that name in Libya.
In the middle of the span is an equestrian statue which seemingly points towards the Eiffel Tower. The statue’s name is Monument de la France Renaissante or the Monument of French Resistance. It originally was supposed to represent Joan of Arc, but after the Second World War, it was changed to represent the spirit of French Resistance during that era.
Rather ornate underpass for the elevated railway.
